Location:
The Garbett Center for Choral Studies
700 N 200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84103

What if singing wasn’t about being “good,” polished, or brave enough to audition?

What if it was about listening inward, releasing tension, and letting your voice move you instead of the other way around?

HUM is an 8-week, non-performative choir experience for women who want to sing without judgment, or the demand to perform.

No concerts. No tickets. No audience.

Just voice, breath, and connective choral magic

Rooted in Alexander Technique principles, HUM invites you into a playful, supportive exploration of your voice in a choral setting—where coordination, ease, and resonance emerge naturally when effort softens.

This is a space for:

  • Humans who long to make beautiful sound together
  • Voices that want expression without pressure
  • Women craving self-nurture and nervous-system regulation
  • Those healing from vocal strain, silence, or self-criticism
  • Singers who feel disconnected from their voice
HUM Women's Chorus Group

You don’t need to audition.

You don’t need to sound a certain way.

You don’t need to “perform.”

You only need curiosity—and a willingness to hum, explore, and listen.

Chorus practicing Alexander Technique movements

Over 8 weeks, we’ll explore:

  • 1 Gentle vocal play using top-notch music
  • 2 Alignment, breath, and resonance using Alexander Technique
  • 3 Simple harmonies and group resonance
  • 4 Awareness of habit, tension, and choice
  • 5 Singing as connection and healing, not achievement

HUM is not about fixing your voice.

It’s about allowing it.

No pressure. No judgment. No performance. Just voice.
